Johna Turner has been a freelance guide for a number of years. He left the corporate world and persued a guiding career to fulfill his “passion for the bush” and share it with others.
He established Accipiter Tours and Trails in May 2008. Johna is a registered national guide who qualified through the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) as a nature guide, trails guide, and savanna and montane grassland birding specialist. Besides the Wilderness Trails done with EcoTraining, The Outpost and Oddballs Camp, he is a freelance guide and has lectured nature studies and guiding skills. Johna has wilderness experience in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Alaska and northern Australia.
