The Makuleke Area rests between the Limpopo and Luvuvhu Rivers, stretching from the Kruger National Park Pafuri Gate to Crooks Corner, an area of 24,000 hectares. This region in the far northern Kruger National Park is recognised as the biodiversity jewel of the Kruger National Park.
Makuya Nature Reserve is a Limpopo Parks provincial nature reserve, which is located in the northern Greater Kruger National Park. Fenceless boundaries exist with the Makuleke Concession to the east, and across the Luvuvhu River with the Nyalaland Wilderness are of Kruger National Park, so wildlife is free to roam.
Blouberg is a Limpopo Parks provincial nature reserve situated in the arid bushveld region of Limpopo province. The reserve was proclaimed in 1983 after the land was bought from farmers, and is named after Blouberg Mountain. Blouberg prides itself on its Cape Vulture breeding colony, located on the cliffs of eastern Blouberg Mountain.
